Planning a career in the offshore maritime industry should be thought out very carefully. It's dangerous and you're gone away from home and your loved ones for many days at a time. However, working offshore can be not only lucrative, but rewarding as well.

Most hitches, (the time you're working offshore), last 28 days, then you're off for 14 days.. Yes they're are some companies that offer 14 days on / 14 days off as well. So if you think about it you're only working offshore 6 to 9 months out of the year.

When you're off you can do whatever you want. Make plans to go places, vacation, maritime schools or just stay home and hang out with your friends and family. Oh yea, they'll be working their same old job while you're off having fun.

4. Challenging and Adventurous
