Metaboli Review
Take a moment to consider how Games on Demand has progressed. PC Video Games as an example began it's journey in 2005 to bring digital distribution over the internet to gamers in the UK. Similar to Indiagames(successful India GoD service), Metaboli has taken the key needs of gamers and combined them into a service which delivers on it's promises. These types of services have provided an amazing opportunity to impact pirated games by providing a cheap and legitimate service to it's customers. While using Metaboli myself, I found it ticks 3 of the main boxes that I personally desired as a gamer.
Price
Paying 40 a pop for a retail boxed game is too much. Metaboli on the other hand has ticked the box for price because currently it can PC Games Accesories approximately 280 games for 12.95 per month or about 180 games for 6.95 per month. What tipped the scales for me was the quality of the games you could download, I'm not going to babble on in this brief Metaboli review about them because everyone's taste in games differs so I recommend viewing the games yourself at the bottom of this article.
Games in 3 clicks
The other review box Metaboli ticked was how easy it was to download a game. It is as simple as downloading any other piece of software, you don't have to install the game, you can even start playing the game before it's fully downloaded, the guy who made the Metaboli player is a genius in my book. After subscribing it only took three clicks to begin download Civilization 4(my favourite). To compare how Metaboli downloads the games you can look at Windows Vista Windows Update service. The Metaboli player will download the full files in the background and show a percentage until you can play the game (not necessarily needing to download the full game to begin playing it).
Beats pirated Games
If you can't pay HMV, Game or Gamestation 40 a game then some people may turn to downloading pirated games, we don't have to discuss the dangers of downloading pirated games to understand why it's less than ideal. It's how Metaboli has ticked this box that has inspired me into Sony Playstation 2 Adapters such a blazing Metaboli review. The combination of price, quality and how the service that is delivered which makes me wonder how I ever downloaded pirated games in the past.
While I believe Metaboli to be ahead of the game(pardon the pun!), this would not be a proper and just Metaboli review if I didn't mention the negative points. Metaboli has no support for 64bit users, while I have heard some and I mean *some* users have *some* games working I would very strongly advise not to subscribe if you use a 64bit version of windows. There has also been an overhaul of the website very recently which has brought a few bugs to the surface although we've been told they are being fixed which I can confirm has been happening. The other disadvantage is that you have to be connected to the internet to play the games, while this may seem obvious, some have felt the opposite which is why it's worth mentioning.
